  • The only borehole equipped the international standard and within the network managed by the PNRA OSS-12 is located very close to MZS named OASI. The site (-74.74167;164.1;52 m slm) is a flat granitic outcrop. The borehole was drilled with compressed and refrigerated air in the austral summer of 2007 and equipped in 2008. The borehole is 31 m deep and the ZAA is ca 26m and there are 20 thermistors at different depths. Here, only the temperature closest at ZAA depth has been reported.

  • During the XI Italian Antarctic expedition (1995/96), 435 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Geological, geomorphological and geophysical mapping of Victoria Land" in northern and southern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks and fossil woods. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Convoy Range ST 57-60/1, Coulman Island SS 58-60/6, Mount Joyce SS 55-57/16, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5, Reeves Névé 55-57/12, Relief Inlet SS 58-60/13 and Sequence Hills SS 55-57/8 USGS sheets.

  • This dataset includes all the acapulcoite meteorites (primitive achondrites) collected during the Italian Antarctic Expeditions since 1994 in Victoria Land and now preserved at the repository of the Museo Nazionale dell’Antartide.

  • During the X Italian Antarctic expedition (1994/95), 521 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Proterozoic-Paleozoic evolution of the Pacific margin of Antarctica" in northern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Daniels Range SR 57-58/14, Ebbe Glacier SR 57-58/16, Freyberg Mountains SS 58-60/1, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5 and Mount Soza SR 57-58/15 USGS sheets.

  • During the XXVI and XXVII Italian Antarctic expeditions (2010/11, 2011/12), 668 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Geological continental markers of Cenozoic climate changes in Victoria Land, Antarctica" in northern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Coulman Island SS 58-60/6, Mount Joyce SS 55-57/16, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5 and Relief Inlet SS 58-60/13 USGS sheets.

  • This dataset reports the snow density, temperature and hardness observations from the surface to 1 m depth at the Concordia Station, Antarctica. A snow trench is dig once per month (or every three months during winter) in the clean area near the Station (< 1 km). The snow density measurements are taken inserting a core barrel (with a diameter of 4.5 cm and a length of 25 cm) horizontally into the snow every 10 cm from 0 to 1 m depth. The snow density is calculated from the weight. For each layer the temperature and the hardness (ranging from 1 to 6) are also recorded.

  • During the XI Italian Antarctic expedition (1995/96), 525 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the international GEOMAUD project in central Dronning Maud Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic and metamorphic rocks. Project: Geoscientific expedition to Dronning Maud Land 1995/96.

  • During the XXXVIII Italian Antarctic expedition (2022/23), 126 rocks have been sampled within the aim of “MAGIC” project in northern Victoria Land. They include volcanic, igneous and metamorphic rocks, and sediment. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS58-60/2, Freyberg Mountains SS 58-60/1, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5 and Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9 USGS sheets. Project: Magma-Ice interaction: late Miocene ice thickness and eruption tempo in northern Victoria Land.
