During the XIII and XIV Italian Antarctic expeditions (1997/98, 1998/99), 18 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the international CRP project in southern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic and metamorphic rocks. The investigated regions are within Taylor Glacier ST 57-60/5 and Ross Island ST 57-60/6* USGS sheets. During the XX and XXI Italian Antarctic expeditions (2004/05, 2005/06), 668 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Chronologic-dynamic zoning of the Ross Orogen" in northern and southern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Coulman Island SS 58-60/6, Daniels Range SR 57-58/14, Freyberg Mountains SS 58-60/1, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5, Mount Soza SR 57-58/15, Ob' Bay SR 57-58/11, Pomerantz Tableland SR 57-58/10, Relief Inlet SS 58-60/13, Sequence Hills SS 55-57/8 and Welcome Mountain SS 55-57/4 USGS sheets.

During the XXVII Italian Antarctic expedition (2011/12), 143 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Xenoliths and basic lavas for the knowledge of the C-O-H system in the lithospheric mantle of the polar regions" in northern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic and metamorphic rocks. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Coulman Island SS 58-60/6, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9 and Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5 USGS sheets.

During the XXI Italian Antarctic expedition (2005/06), 42 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Origin and behaviour of the northern Victoria Land glacial system" in northern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The investigated regions are within Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5 and Relief Inlet SS 58-60/13 USGS sheets.

During the XXXIII and XXXIV Italian Antarctic expeditions (2017/18, 2018/19), 194 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Dating of tectonic activity along the Transantarctic Mountains front" in northern and southern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The investigated regions are within Convoy Range ST 57-60/1, Franklin Island ST 57-60/2*, Mount Joyce SS 55-57/16, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Reeves Névé SS 55-57/12, Relief Inlet SS 58-60/13 and Ross Island ST 57-60/6* USGS sheets.

This new dataset presents occurrence data for Porifera collected in the Ross Sea, mainly in the Terra Nova Bay area, and curated at the Italian National Antarctic Museum (MNA, section of Genoa). Specimens were collected in 331 different sampling stations at depths ranging from 17 to 1100 meters in the framework of 17 different Italian Antarctic expeditions funded by the Italian National Antarctic Research Program (PNRA). This dataset focuses on all classes (Calcarea, Demospongiae, Hexactinellida and Homoscleromorpha) of the Phylum Porifera (Kingdom Animalia), and includes a total of 807 specimens belonging to 144 morphospecies (with 95 taxa classified at species level and 49 at genus level), are included in the dataset and representing 12 orders and 30 families.

During the XXXIV Italian Antarctic expedition (2018/19), 246 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Early Paleozoic geodynamics of northern Victoria Land and implications for Gondwana reconstructions" in northern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, ultramafic and metamorphic rocks. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Coulman Island SS 58-60/6, Freyberg Mountains SS 58-60/1, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5, Mount Soza SR 57-58/15, Ob' Bay SR 57-58/11 and Pomerantz Tableland SR 57-58/10 USGS sheets. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. This dataset includes all the carbonaceous chondrites CM group collected during the Italian Antarctic Expeditions since 2013 in Victoria Land and now preserved at the repository of the Museo Nazionale dell’Antartide.
