  • During the XIII and XIV Italian Antarctic expeditions (1997/98, 1998/99), 18 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the international CRP project in southern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic and metamorphic rocks. The investigated regions are within Taylor Glacier ST 57-60/5 and Ross Island ST 57-60/6* USGS sheets.   • Distribution records of Amphipoda based on the collection stored at the Italian National Antarctic Museum (MNA) is an occurrence type dataset published by Italian National Antarctic Museum (MNA, Section of Genoa). This dataset provides occurrence information for Amphipoda specimens spanning 25 years of scientific research and dating back to 1995. The distributional information provided here represents the specimens stored at the Italian National Antarctic Museum (MNA) belonging to the order Amphipoda and acquired in the context of 23 different research projects that took place during 16 scientific polar expeditions conducted in Antarctica. It represents an additional resource documenting the distribution of Antarctic Amphipoda in the Southern Ocean, from the Antarctic Peninsula to the Ross Sea, focusing on the Terra Nova Bay area. This dataset reports a total of 456 distributional occurrences of Amphipoda specimens, collected during 117 different sampling events, and corresponding to 24 families, 27 genera and 34 different species. Out of the total occurrences reported, 217 are identified to the species level, 72 to the genus and 75 to the family level.

  • During the IX Italian Antarctic expedition (1993/94), 376 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Cenozoic geodynamics in the Ross Sea area: magmatism and tectonic evolution" in northern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic and metamorphic rocks. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Coulman Island SS 58-60/6, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5, Reeves Névé SS 55-57/12 and Relief Inlet SS 58-60/13 USGS sheets.

  • This dataset includes all the enstatite chondrites EL group collected during the Italian Antarctic Expeditions since 2004 in Victoria Land and now preserved at the repository of the Museo Nazionale dell’Antartide.

  • During the IX Italian Antarctic expedition (1993/94), 1066 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Evolution of the Pacific margin of the East Antarctic craton in the Proterozoic-Early Paleozoic" in northern and southern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Convoy Range ST 57-60/1, Coulman Island SS 58-60/6, Daniels Range SR 57-58/14, Franklin Island ST 57-60/2*, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5, Mount Soza SR 57-58/15, Relief Inlet SS 58-60/13, Ross Island ST 57-60/6*, Taylor Glacier ST 57-60/5 and Welcome Mountain SS 55-57/4 USGS sheets.

  • This dataset illustrates the distributional data of bryozoan species, belonging to the Classes of Stenolaemata and Gymnolaemata, collected in the Ross Sea and the Magellan Strait. The collection is curated at the Italian National Antarctic Museum (MNA, section of Genoa) and it includes a total of 311 specimens corresponding to 282 MNA vouchers and belonging to 127 morphospecies. Out of these, 100 were classified to species level and 27 to genus level, representing 3 orders and 34 families. The distributional data of Bryozoa came from different research expeditions, conducted between 1988 and 2014, and include 75 sampling stations, located between 18 and 711 metres of depth.

  • This dataset includes all the carbonaceous chondrites CM group collected during the Italian Antarctic Expeditions since 2013 in Victoria Land and now preserved at the repository of the Museo Nazionale dell’Antartide.

  • During the XXI Italian Antarctic expedition (2005/06), 42 rocks have been sampled within the aim of the project "Origin and behaviour of the northern Victoria Land glacial system" in northern Victoria Land. They include intrusive, subvolcanic, volcanic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The investigated regions are within Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5 and Relief Inlet SS 58-60/13 USGS sheets.

  • During the XXXVIII Italian Antarctic expedition (2022/23), 25 rocks and 50 bags of sands have been sampled within the aim of "DISGELI" project in northern Victoria Land. The rock samples include plutonic, volcanic, metamorphic and igneous rocks and sediments. The investigated regions are within the Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9 USGS sheet. The investigated regions are within Cape Hallett SS 58-60/2, Daniels Range SR 57-58/14, Ebbe Glacier SR 57-58/16, Freyberg Mountains SS 58-60/1, Mount Melbourne SS 58-60/9, Mount Murchison SS 58-60/5 and Mount Soza SR 57-58/15 USGS sheets.
